Food preparation takes time, and is often delayed due to the long walk for water. In both communities, like in much of Malawi, pounded Maize meal or Nsima is the staple food for most people. It is time consuming to prepare and requires water.

Community members of Bokola always prepare their lunch around 2pm sometimes even 3pm because they spend much time at the tiny scoop waiting to collect water. Big Dig campaign will solve this problem and the children of this village will have healthy lives.
