Scenes of celebration

On Friday we announced that we have exceeded our initial target of raising £1.2million for The Big Dig. Over the weekend our colleagues Boyce, Michael and Nathan went to the villages of Kaniche and Bokola to share the good news. The scenes of celebration were quite something, and they show the celebration we can look forward to when we start the live drilling in September.

My colleague Michael posted this after an amazing and inspiring day with the community:

“Wow, what a nice campaign, BIG DIG, such a lovely sweet word. Aiming to change peoples lives from unhealthy to smart and healthy people. People free from diseases, that is a healthy world.

“Really, health contributes much to development hence developing our communities, villages and the entire nation.  Oh! what a great change to poor peoples lives. Their lives have tremendously changed to better – active people to develop their families.

Life is precious, everyone has right to life. Thanks to all “WELL WISHERS”. Those who poked into their pockets giving away as much as they can, those who wish people of Kaniche & Bokola to live healthier. Healthy life is a priority to everyone. Let us join hands to eradicate the disease caused due to lack of safe water, poor hygiene & sanitation. Remember:

PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE. IT BEGINS WITH YOU.”

Here’s a selection of photos taken by Boyce and Michael:

UKaid Secure payments

Every pound you donate before 18 September will be doubled by the UK Government – so we can give twice as much help. If you are a UK taxpayer you can also add Gift Aid to your donation at no cost to you. £10 + Government matching = £20. Plus Gift Aid = £22.50 = more lives transformed.

Every penny we raise through The Big Dig Appeal will help to transform lives forever in Malawi.
